|KDLINKS X1 at a glance||Price||Our Rating||Awards|
I’ll get this out of the way very quickly, the KDLINKS X1 is good. Very good. The feature set speaks for itself but what’s not always clear is the quality of the product. The camera is built from very solid material and feels pricy when you pick it up. This is a premium camera make no mistake and it’s backed up by premium tech support form KDLINKS, who are very, very responsive to support tickets and questions. The box contains the camera, 2 separate suction mounts, one for the camera and another for GPS, an 8GB SD Card, a charging cable, a CD with the software and an instruction manual.
KDLINKS X1 Lens
The Lens of the X1 is a 6-glass F1.6 aperture combined with WDR. This, combined with the sensitive AR0330 sensor allows it to record at a wide angle of 165 degrees and quality of 1080p footage at 30 fps. The difference here is the quality of the footage and WDR on offer, which is superb, easily on par with the Falcon Zero F170, one of the best quality cameras on the market.
KDLINKS X1 Hardware
As noted earlier, the build quality on the X1 is second to none. All the components are top quality and there have been very, very few reports of DOA units or breakdowns, something quite unusual in the dash cam market. The supplied Li-polymer 3.7v 110mah battery is also extremely robust allowing a very wide range of operating temperature of -40c to 80c.
The only Feature missing that we’d like to have seen included is a motion detector with parking mode.

KDLINKS X1 Features
Six-Glass F1.6 Aperture
The advanced lens technology produces superb quality footage both at day and during night hours.
The built in GPS sensor allows you to record exact location data along with speed to view back with the capture footage on the KDLINKS player software.
Emergency Lock button and G-Sensor
Allows you to either manually lock and save the footage or automatically lock if an impact is detected.
Li-polymer 3.7v 110mah battery
This robust Li-Polymer battery allows the camera to operate in extremely hot and cold temperatures, -40c to 80c
The X1 is a great camera but I will do my best to pick faults.
Suction Cup Large
The provided suction cup is quite large and makes the camera protrude more than ideal from behind the rear view mirror, detracting from the overall discreetness of the camera.
The menu used to operate the camera is a little clunky and could be more intuitive but when you get used to it, it’s functional.
Is the KDLINKS X1 right for you?
The KDLINKS X1 is a superbly built, well featured, great quality dash cam and is very easy to recommend There will be no regrets buying this camera because it’s so well made and reliable, with great backup from KDLINKS themselves.
The only suggestion we could make is to save a bit of money and pick up the Falcon Zero F170, a camera with a very similar feature set (but includes parking mode), the same video quality but a slightly less responsive tech support for a 25% saving on the cost. Either purchase is a great idea though.
